Ducklings Room for children under twenty months
Ducklings is specially designed to meet the needs of our very youngest children. Their playroom has an indoor slide, steps and a hidey hole, perfect for supporting their natural curiosity. There are floor to ceiling windows to allow our youngest children to see the outdoors and they allow an abundance of natural light into the room. The room is mainly carpeted to allow crawling babies a softer surface on which to explore. Their outdoor play area has a ‘soft-play’ surface as well as grass to protect little knees and allow them to explore the outdoor environment in a safe way. Our care of babies and younger toddlers is respectful to their individuality, nurturing independence and self confidence. Staff in baby room are highly experienced at working with children under two years – they provide a warm, welcoming environment to make your child feel at home. We work with parents to help children settle – offering settling in sessions, discussing weaning requirements and always giving parents a written hand over at the end of the day. In Ducklings we don’t have a ridged structure to the day instead we individualise routines to the needs of the child.
Hedgehogs Room for children twenty to thirty months
“Being two is exciting, scary, interesting, confusing, satisfying and frustrating all at the same time. Part of the charm and the challenge of working with two year olds is how different they can be. Diversity, changeability and personality are the watchwords for these children.” Julia Manning-Morton (2005)
Hedgehogs is a bright and airy space with accessible high quality resources, all designed to promote young children’s development. It is a space that allows young children to be actively engaged in their learning. In Hedgehogs room we have created an educationally rich environment for communication and language, personal, social and emotional development, and physical development – the 3 prime areas of learning.
Owls Room for children aged 30 months until their preschool year
Owls playroom is designed with the older two year old/younger three year old in mind. From heuristic play to sensory exploration and creative activities, Owls will provide your child with a rich and varied program designed to stimulate their young mind and support personal, social and emotional growth, communication, language and physical development.
As children join in a wide variety of activities these have both a practical and positive effect in helping children prepare for the more structured learning environment of preschool. It also prepares them to take direction from adults outside of the circle of family and friends. Mixing with other children helps to develop essential social skills especially when playing and sharing with others, and making friends.
Preschool for children in the year before they start school
On entering preschool you will see children who are busily exploring the stimulating and challenging environment. The room has been carefully resourced and equipped, enabling children to explore and investigate the world around them.
Children are encouraged to make choices and decisions for themselves supported by an Early Years Teacher, who nurtures each child’s self esteem and their belief in themselves as learners. We promote and encourage independence and problem solving skills.
Following the Early Years Foundation Stage children learn through real life experiences. Kinderview is committed to creating an environment in which children participate and achieve their full potential both socially and physically.
Active early education is both fundamental and instrumental in helping to mould and establish your child’s views, values and vision in an ever changing world where traditions are constantly being challenged and questioned. We believe an education embedded in firm foundations is as relevant now as its always been. By placing strong emphasis on good manners, kindness and considerate behaviour, we foster respect for one another.
Our high quality and committed team ensures our children receive individual attention. In particular, there is a strong emphasis on healthy life style, outdoors and practical activities. On leaving our happy, purposeful schoolroom our children are very well equipped for the next stage of their learning journey when they enter reception class at school.
