7.30am - Nursery opens:

Children begin to arrive at nursery. Children are offered breakfast.

9.00am - Circle time:

The children sit together to sing songs and find out what is planned for the day ahead.

9.15am - Group activities & free play:

Children engage in a variety of group activities; for example, junk modelling to construct a robot, Footytotz, or Kidslingo Spanish sessions.

Children also spend time in self-play; learning about sharing and playing together with their peers, and enabling them to begin to form friendship groups and learn socialisation skills.

10am – 10.30am - Rolling snack time:

A healthy snack of fruit and raw vegetables is offered at snack time, along with a drink of milk or alternatives.

The older children are encouraged to self-serve and pour their own drinks.

Snack time is a lovely time for practitioners to have a ‘catch-up’ with the children and to discuss things that have been happening at home.

9am – 5pm - Outdoor play:

The children have the opportunity to play outdoors for the majority of their day at nursery, if they choose.

They are able to develop their gross motor skills outdoors, swinging and climbing on the outdoor equipment.

11.30am - Storytime:

The children sit together and enjoy story time.

The nursery practitioners really bring the story alive with props and puppets.

Children are encouraged to think of their own ending to the story and continue the story by acting it out in the role play area.

11.45am - Lunchtime:

The children enjoy a two course, nutritionally balanced cooked lunch. All dietary requirements are catered for, as are the stages of weaning.

Learn more about our meals and weaning.

12.30pm - Nap or quiet time:

The younger children have a nap on rest mats.

The older children who do not nap have a quiet time listening to relaxing music whilst sitting on the comfy cushions.

1pm - Afternoon session begins (or a little latter for those still napping):

The children engage in a variety of activities on offer.

This may include early writing activities such as finger painting or going on a bug hunt, using a key to identify what they find.

4pm - Tea time:

The children are offered a light tea.

They sit down together with the nursery practitioners and chat about the day and what they have been doing.

4.30pm - Storytime:

The children come together for the final time in the day to listen to a story, sing songs and do action rhymes.

5pm onwards - Children begin to go home:

The nursery day draws to a close as we say goodbye for the day and look forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow.
